Eldertree Gardens is a very tight steeply sloping site with restricted access. The architectural design is modern and interesting utilising a curved standing seam roof and features presenting a challenge from a structural engineering viewpoint.
The design necessitated retaining walls to retain the slope of the site and piled foundations to overcome the presence of fill material and nearby boundary walls.
The superstructure is of timber frame construction with isolated steelwork for structural support for stability where required.
