Type: Factory, Storage and Office Space Location: South Molton, North Devon

We provided full structural and civil engineering services for this project involving initial feasibility studies, presenting various schemes to the client and architect, for consideration and costing, followed by full design and detailing. A soil investigation was undertaken and we used the results to establish suitable foundation design for the project, which generally comprised strip footings for walls and pad foundations for structural steel framing. Soft areas of ground were encountered and this was overcome by spreading the load with reinforced bases and ground beams.

We provided complete design and drawings for the structural steelwork, including connection designs, and liaised with the steel fabricator to assist with the preparation of his fabrication drawings.

We also provided an inspection service throughout the construction process to ensure the design was progressing in accordance with our drawings and to a satisfactory standard.
