Barn Conversion to form Annexe

Type: Barn Conversion - Annexe to Historic Farm House Location: Crediton, Mid Devon

This project was a conversion and sympathetic extension of an existing barn to provide ancillary accommodation to the main farmhouse. The farmhouse is grade ll* listed necessitating the involvement of English Heritage as well as Mid Devon District Council’s conservation officers and planning department.

We provided full structural engineering services for substantial renovation and conversion of the existing historic barn. The barn contained some very important historic features for which English Heritage required sympathetic repairs and strengthening works to be undertaken. The project was completed satisfactorily to the approval of English Heritage.
