Bindon House Hotel Conversion

Type: Manor House Conversion to Hotel Location: Langford Budville, Wellington, Somerset

The Bindon House project involved the conversion of a former seriously dilapidated mansion into a luxury hotel with sporting facilities, such as shooting and fishing. We were appointed to carry out an initial survey of the building and to make recommendations for remediation. We were also commissioned to carry out structural design works for extensive alterations.

The building was listed so repairs and new structural works were designed using traditional materials and methods, in keeping with the original structure. It was found that some of the major roof trusses had seriously decayed and these were repaired in situ using the Rotafix system where decayed ends are removed and new ends manufactured using similar timber.
