A devastating fire has seriously damaged the structure of the listed 13th century Bell Inn. The Inn is steeped in history, originally being a forge and two farm workers cottages with oak beams, cob walls and open fires, all under a traditional thatched roof. We were commissioned to undertake an inspection of the building and make recommendations for emergency measures to stabilise the remaining structure. Following this, sympathetic design for reinstatement of the cob walls, floors and roof structure was carried out with detailed drawings produced for listed building approval.
