Warehouse Conversion at New Street, Plymouth

This project was carried out for a property developer involving the conversion of an old warehouse into luxury apartments. We carried out a full structural assessment of the building and schedule of remedial works which had to be undertaken to render the building suitable for conversion.

The building had deteriorated due to lack of maintenance over the years and a central valley running through the building was rotten affecting the ends of major roof trusses. We designed repair and strengthening works for the roof including repairs to the ends of major roof trusses.

Mezzanine floors were installed requiring structural design and all existing floors were upgraded for sound insulation and fire resistance, hence increasing weight requiring a structural analysis to be undertaken.
